1947 Kurihara Kogyo established (at Tokyo) and began manufacturing packing for trains and copper alloy metal.
1950 Company name changed to KYOWA METAL WORKS CO., LTD.
1959 Manufacture of synchronizers for NISSAN MOTORS began.
1963 Factory for synchronizers completed (in Isogo-ku,Yokohama).
1965 Manufacture of double-cone synchronizers for NISSAN MOTORS began.
1969 Head office moved to Yokohama and factory for forging completed
(in Yokohama).
1974 Successful development of an aluminum shift fork.
1976 New factory completed (in Torihama-cho, Kanazawa-ku, and head office moved to Torihama site.
1978 Kurihara scholarship foundation established.
1981 Factory for shift forks completed (Fukuura Factory).
Manufacture of shift forks for FUJI HEAVY INDUSTRIES and overseas automotive makers began.
1987 Manufacture of double-cone synchronizers for NISSAN MOTORS began.
Manufacture of iron-resin composite type synchronizer rings for automotive makers of Trucks, such as NISSAN DIESEL MOTOR, HINO MOTORS, and ISUZU MOTORS, began.
1989 Manufacture of double-cone synchronizers for MITSUBISHI MOTORS began.
Manufacture of shift forks for GM (N.V.G) began.
1992 The iron-resin composite type synchronizer ring received first prize in Kanagawa prefecture’s technology development awards.
1993 Manufacture of double-cone synchronizers for FUJI HEAVY INDUSTRIES began.
1995 Joint company (WUHAN KYOWA SYNCHRONIZER RING CO., LTD) with China-based company (WUHAN FANZHOU MACHINE MANUFACTURING CO., LTD) established in China.
1999 Received ISO9001certification.
Manufacture of lever synchronizers for MITSUBISHI MOTORS began.
2000 Received QS9000 certification.
2001 Manufacture of lever synchronizers for Hyundai Motor Company began.
2002 Manufacture of lever synchronizers for MAZDA MOTOR and AISIN AI began.
2003 Manufacture of lever synchronizers for SUZUKI MOTOR began.
2005 Joint compny "KSTE" established in France
2006 Received ISO4001 certification.
2007 Best 300 vigor manufacturers of small and medium enterprises by the Ministry of Economy,
Trade and Industry and the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency.
2008 Received TS16949(Quality Management System) certification.
2009 Manufacture of lever synchronizers for GM Korea began.
